The Fallen Pantheon was not composed only of divinities. Countless angels, seraphs, cherubs, thorns, powers, and principalities were incarnated to serve their will and needs. Hundreds, perhaps thousands, of these were destroyed during the Fall, but a few proved more resilient. Individually named and revered, their shrines and statues became loci of power and belief, allowing them to retain a toehold in the Prime Domain after the Theomachy that culled the Pantheon immediately following the Fall. Awakened by the rituals of the ever faithful or commanded by their Fallen Divinities their heavy bodies can soar through the heavens, their memories of flight strong enough to overcome the laws of the world as they Herald the arrival of their Gods in a torrent of bloodshed and murder.

How They Play in TLAOK: Heroes from before the Fall return to serve the Old Dominion once more. These animated simulacra are champions of the battlefield, mighty conquerors and defenders who siphon dark power to enhance their already potent combat capabilities. The Fallen Angels add a layer of versatility to Old Dominion armies that goes far beyond the maneuverability granted by Flying. Dark Awakening allows them to tailor their Special Rules to deliver a powerful strike against virtually any opponent. Particularly effective in the late game, when Power Tokens are plentiful, the Fallen Angels force players to find a careful balance: spend too much too early and risk limiting the army’s growth, or wait too long and risk being unable to unleash the Angels’ full power when it matters most. You can field them either as a Mainstay for the Theokrator or a Restricted option for the Strategos and Archimandrite.
